Route Report

The Circuit of Almería is a race track near the municipality of Tabernas, about 30km from Almeria. Inaugurated in 2000, the circuit is chosen by many World Cup teams for their pre-season workouts due to its low rainfall (3,000 hours of sunshine) and its geographical location. The course has some similarities with Laguna Seca in California due to its topography, climate and surroundings. Technically demanding 4.025 km with an almost 1 km long back straight,12 corners and two courage hills.

Important Hints

From now on, all winter events in Spain require a confirmation of a current health insurance or an official race licence. Please send it in advance by e-mail (info@rehmracedays.de) or leave it at the office at the latest when you register. Without such a confirmation, a daily health insurance must be taken out at the race track for a fee.

Annotations

Almeria is located in the south of Spain and offers everything you expect from a modern race track. The track challenges the rider with demanding curve combinations. There is a petrol station approx. 3 km away.

Directions to the track:

Vehicle: The Circuito de Almeria is easily accessible via the A7 (E15) - from the Spanish border follow the motorway, past Barcelona, Valencia and Murcia to exit 514, here in the direction of Sorbas, through Sorbas and on to Tabernas. The race track is on the right side before Tabernas. From the Spanish border about 900km.

Airplane/Car rental: Southern Spain is served by almost all airlines. Suitable destination airports are Almeria, Murcia (San Javier) and Malaga as well as Granada. Depending on the airport there are about 50 - 200km to the race track. Flights are best found on the Internet, e.g. at www.billiger-reisen.de (booking portal, independent of airlines). Rental cars are also available at low prices in southern Spain; booking is often cheapest in combination with booking a flight. The provider www.cars4holidays.com offers rental cars from/to all airports; no extra charge if the pick-up and drop-off points are not identical!

Overnight stay:

Southern Spain's coast is excellently developed for tourism and offers a wide range of accommodation even in winter. The best place to reach is the coastal town of Mujacar, which is about 30 km away from the route. Information on hotels can be found on the Internet, e.g. at www.besthotels.es or www.hotel.com
